Regular Decision - Denied Students

After reviewing our applications for the Regular Decision applicant pool, the Admission Committee has completed the selection of Regular Decision candidates for the Class of 2012.

Although the number of applications for both Early Decision and Regular Decision have increased, our freshmen class size has remained the same, creating an even more competitive and highly selective admissions process than in the past. We greatly appreciate the time and effort that you put into your application, and we assure you that every application was reviewed carefully, thoroughly, and fairly within the context of this year's application pool.

Although we cannot re-review Regular Decision applications, your application can still be considered for admission at Oxford College of Emory University. Emory University offers two options for entering freshmen – Emory College and Oxford College. Oxford College students begin their Emory education on our original campus in Oxford, GA – 38 miles east of Atlanta. After successfully completing two years there, students may continue to Emory’s main campus in Atlanta to complete their undergraduate degrees in the liberal arts, business or nursing. Oxford College students take advantage of the resources of Emory University and the variety of majors just like students who begin at Emory College!

If you have not already applied to and received an admission decision directly from Oxford College, your Emory College application can now serve as your application to Oxford. In order to have your application reviewed by the Oxford College Admission Committee, please follow these simple steps:

1. Login to your OPUS account (www.opus.emory.edu).
2. Navigate to the Admission icon and click on “Apply to Oxford”.
3. Place a check on the box, click "submit,” and your information from Emory College will automatically be transferred to Oxford College via our system - no need to complete another admission application or pay an additional application fee!

You will receive an email notifying you that your information has been received by Oxford College. Once the Admission Committee has made a decision, it will be available via your OPUS account.

Please note:
• Oxford College’s admission decision is completely independent of Emory College. You may receive one of three decisions from Oxford: 1) admit, 2) deny, or 3) waitlist (once their class is filled).
• If you applied for need-based Financial Aid, we will also request a copy of your financial aid file from Emory College.

The best way to learn more about Oxford College is to visit their website at www.emory.edu/OXFORD. You are also encouraged to schedule a visit to Oxford’s campus to check it out for yourself. Reservations may be made through their website or by phone at 800-723-8328 or 770-784-8328. Other questions may be directed to an Oxford admission or financial aid representative by calling their office Monday through Friday between 8:30-5:00pm.

Your serious interest in Emory is appreciated. Should your interest in Emory College continue, please consider applying again as a transfer student. We require one full year of college work; the transfer application deadline is June 1 of any year.

On behalf of the Admission Committee, we want to extend to you our best wishes for a rewarding college career.
