Liberal Arts Strength
The curriculum is grounded in the liberal arts, providing an education
of across-the-board strength that emphasizes writing well and connecting
ideas.
Students can choose from 65 majors, 10 combined bachelors/masters
degrees, and 9 preprofessional programs.
The Honors Program enables qualified seniors to conduct intensive
research in the subject of their choice.
Study abroad for a semester or summer in programs that span the
globe.
Intellectual Community
The campus is a place where ideas are not contained by classroom
walls. On-campus speakers, lunchtime lectures at the Carlos Museum, poetry
readings, and impromptu debates on the Quad enrich learning.
Recent on-campus visitors and speakers include Bill Clinton, Newt
Gingrich, Maya Angelou, Wynton Marsalis, Robert Redford, Kenneth Cole,
Michael Ondaatje, Jesse Jackson, Spike Lee, Madeleine Albright, His Holiness
the Dalai Lama, and Nobel laureate Jimmy Carter.
