Application Processing Fee
An application processing fee of $50 must accompany the application for admission or be paid online at www.emory. edu/ADMISSIONS. Checks or money orders from U.S. banks should be made payable to Emory University.

Test Scores
All applicants are required to submit scores, taken within the last five years, from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). If you have not taken the SAT or ACT within the last five years, you may arrange to do so through the Educational Testing Service office in your area. Scores may be reported to Emory directly from the testing center or from the official secondary school transcript. Emory’s College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB)/SAT code number is 5187; the ACT code number is 0810. Students who do not speak English as a first language are strongly encouraged to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score.

Faculty Recommendation
Applicants are responsible for providing Emory with a recommendation from a faculty member at the student’s present institution. A recommendation form is enclosed with the Emory Transfer Application. Candidates who have been employed for an extended period while not attending college may wish to have their employer, rather than a faculty member, provide the recommendation.

Secondary School Transcript
All transfer applicants must submit a secondary school transcript. If an applicant has completed more than two years of college coursework, he/she may request that the secondary school transcript requirement be waived at the discretion of the admission committee.

College Transcripts
Candidates should request registrars of all colleges attended to forward transcripts of their college records to the Office of Admission. Candidates are encouraged to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all college work attempted. In order to matriculate at Emory College, all transfer students must submit complete and final transcripts from all colleges attended, including final grades for any work in progress at the time of application.

Decisions Mailed
Decisions are made on a rolling basis after each deadline, based on when all materials have been received and processed by the Office of Admission. Transfer decisions are mailed via U.S. Postal Service. Decisions are not available online or by phone.

Summer/Fall
We begin reading transfer applications for summer after the first of April and for fall after the first of June. At that point, decisions will be made two to three weeks after receiving written confirmation from Emory that your application is complete. Please note that the admission committee will often request final spring semester grades, which can delay the decision process and subsequent notification.

Spring Decisions
We will begin reading transfer applications for spring decisions after the first of November. Decisions will be rendered on a rolling basis, and typically take two to three weeks after an application is complete. Please note that the admission committee reserves the right to request final fall semester grades, which can delay the decision process and subsequent notification.

Deposit Due
A nonrefundable deposit of $450.00 is due within two weeks of your acceptance to reserve a place in the class.
