Kyle Petersen - Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology

Kyle is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. He is the director of the Anatomy for Allied Health (BAHS 500) course which is taught during the Fall Semester each year for the graduate students in the Physicians Assistant program and the Anesthesia program. This course is equally divided between lectures and laboratories. The laboratory utilizes prosected human bodies for demonstrations plus models, films and slides for individual and small groups.

Kyle participates in the Human Anatomy (Medical 501) course in the School of Medicine. He enjoys this detailed course where the students do a dissection of the human body. He also contributes by giving lectures.

Kyle received his bachelors, masters and Ph.D. from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Before joining the faculty at Emory, Kyle was a faculty member at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in Baltimore, and at the University of Missouri Kansas City, School of Medicine in Kansas City.

Since coming to Emory, Kyle has used computer authoring software to make interactive programs for the students in Anatomy. Inaddition to the computer, Kyle and his wife Karen, a data processing manager at Coca Cola, enjoy music, theater, gardening, hiking, and travel, especially to visit there son and his wife who live in California.
