CAN YOU IMAGINE living in a world with cures to
all physical diseases, the ability to reverse aging, limitless
wealth and resources and fulfillment of all dreams allowed by the laws of
physics? Such is the promise of nanotechnology not today, but in our
lifetime.
Nanotechnology will be focused on the manufacturing of matter at the molecule
level in order to replicate matter of all sorts. In no field is there more
wonder than in the area of medicine and genetics nanomedicine
the focus of this web site. Can you imagine the creation of the perfect
race free from defects and in perfect health? It is a hotly debated
topic, and the possibilities are getting closer. If the recent success in
cloning mammals has sent chills down spines, the potential for Nanotechnology
may be almost unthinkable.
So What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology, or what could more specifically be termed molecular nanotechnology
or molecular manufacturing, is the anticipated ability to inexpensively
fabricate complex devices, both large and small, with precise control over
the arrangement of the individual atoms that constitute the device. Estimates
are that this technology will arrive sometime in the next 15 to 30 years.
Such devices will make possible novel activities; for example, true and general
molecular repair of biological tissues.
