Submittal Tracking
Submittals are drawings, samples, or product information submitted to the General Contractor by the Subcontractors and Vendors. The General Contractor reviews the submittal then forwards it to the Architect for approval. The Architect can approve, reject, or request a re-submittal of the submittal. The reviewed submittal then makes it way through the project chain until it resides with its originator.
Like RFIs, the project's success can be determined by a lethargic submittal process. The submittal log keeps a record of the necessary tracking dates. Consistent delays in the system can be discovered and resolved.
