Flat screens are most applicable for replacing current screen technologies such as TVs and computer monitors.  The advantages are clarity, size, weight and portability.  Computer screens and TVs will therefore be the first applications.

The decision to adopt is highly dependent on the future development of the technology.  Similar to the computer industry, we will probably experience a period where advances come rapidly and prices drop continually until the newest model starts the cycle again.

Applications that require large infrastructure changes, such as airport monitors, will most likely come more slowly.  However, the flat screens are incredibly versatile as they can be hung like a picture on any flat surface.
