VRD - What Is It?

The Virtual Retinal Display is actually a new way to display information.
Traditional technologies such as CRT's, LCD's, or other flat panels all
create images on a screen so that they can be viewed. The VRD eliminates
the need for a screen by placing the images directly on the retina. This
creates an image that is brighter, has higher resolution and has higher
contrast.
The advantages of this technology are:
- Light Weight - so light weight that it can be mounted on eyeglasses
- Low Power - device uses very little power to form the image
on the retina
- Wider Range of Color - than any other display technology
- Large Field-of-View - greater than 120 degrees
- Fully Inclusive or See-Through Mode - even under bright lights
- High Resolution - approaches that of the human eye
- True Stereoscopic Display - with depth modulation
