Message from the Sr. Vice President
Emory University’s Division of Campus Life serves most facets of student life outside the classroom. The Division employs more than 800 people – many with advanced degrees – who work toward the common goals of building community and furthering education beyond academics.
We help students as they strive to develop leadership skills, character and discipline. We give them a place to grow in spirit and learn to accept personal responsibility. And we offer them many outlets for their practical skills and creative energies – all this in an environment that fosters close, cooperative relationships among students of many races, cultures, religions and nationalities.
About
In order to create an exemplary learning community that experientially prepares students for ethical leadership and active citizenship, the staff of the Division encourage students to participate in a variety of activities, ranging from the arts to sports and student governance and politics within the Emory community and beyond.
Composed of more than 15 departments, Campus Life programs and services support the five core values of the division:
- human development—support for intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social growth and well-being;
- integrity — congruence of personal and professional value and ethics;
- collaboration — commitment to cooperative and mutually beneficial partnership;
- professionalism — excellence in responsiveness and service delivery; and
- community — building unity through respect and appreciation for individual and cultural differences as well as identification with Emory and its values.
