Grant Funding

Late Night @ Emory is a co-sponsorship program by The Dobbs University Center (DUC), The Office of Student Leadership & Service (OSLS), Residence Life and Housing, the Residence Hall Association, the Student Programming Council (SPC), and Emory Dining and Food Administration Services to promote alcohol free alternative social activities on Friday and Saturday nights at Emory. To help accomplish this goal, the Division of Campus Life offers grant money to student organizations or departments to help provide a variety of funding options to ensure that a large, fun, social opportunity occurs for Emory students to attend.

Awarded co-sponsors will receive funding as well as programming support by the DUC and SPC. This application for co-sponsorship is available for any student organization or Emory department to apply. The organizations or departments that submit the strongest, most promising program that will maximize the Late Night @ Emory funds while providing excellent alcohol free social activity will be awarded the co-sponsorship. However, funds are limited and all programs will not be granted funding. Fall programs will be held in September, October, November, and December. Programs in the Spring will be held in January, February, March, and April.

Activity Requirements:

Free to All Emory Students. Fundraising may not be required, but if the event is of a charitable nature, donations can be accepted.

Fun – The purpose of Late Night @ Emory is predominately social in nature. While there can be a learning component, the focus is on building community and social networking in an alcohol free setting.

Fridays or Saturdays @ Night – Should start AFTER 7:00 PM. Preference will be given to programs that last later than midnight.

Free from Alcohol – alcohol may not be served at a Late Night @ Emory event.

Evaluation – The DUC, The Student Programming Council, and the Office of Student Leadership & Service will work with you to create a method to evaluate the quality/enjoyment of the program. It can be really simple and will include such things as total number of people attending, a quick survey for feedback, etc.

Spring 2013 Application Process

  1. Complete and submit a funding request. Please be sure to include specific information on target audience, budget items, and food budget requests.
  2. Applications are due Wednesday, December 5, 2012.
  3. Applications will be reviewed following submission. All applicants will be notified of their status by Noon on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
