Dr. John FordDr. John L. Ford became Senior Vice President and Dean for Campus Life at Emory in January 2001. He was previously Robert W. and Elizabeth C. Staley Dean of Students and Professor of Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University since 1992, having been a faculty member with teaching and research interests in health care policy and an academic department chair at Cornell since 1974.Born in Chicago, Dr. Ford received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and psychology from Boston University, and a master's in social work, masters of public health, and doctorate from the University of Michigan. Ron TaylorNo bio availableBridget Guernsey RiordanDr. Bridget Guernsey Riordan was named Dean of Students in October 2006. At Emory she has held the positions of Director of Student Activities, Assistant to the Vice President for Campus Life, and Assistant Vice President of Campus Life. She supervises the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, and the offices of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Life, Multicultural Programs and Services, Sorority and Fraternity Life, and Student Development/Volunteer Emory.Dr. Riordan has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Higher Education program at Georgia State University. Prior to her positions at Emory, Dr. Riordan worked in various student affairs positions at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Pittsburgh and served as a National Collegiate Field Advisor for Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity. A native of Indiana, Dr. Riordan received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University, her Master of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh. In professional associations, Dr. Riordan served as the President of the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and has been on the Region III board for NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators). Her areas of research and publication have included alcohol education and Greek letter organizations. Carolyn LivingstonCarolyn Livingston is currently Special Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Dean for Campus Life. She is responsible chiefly for supporting the Senior Vice President in daily tasks and projects, supervising the Office of Student Conduct, implementing and coordinating division-wide assessment efforts, addressing off-campus concerns, developing relationships with key internal constituents, policy implementation, event and program development, and serving as liaison to the Dean of Campus Life at Oxford College. She also administers the student medical amnesty process.Prior to joining Emory in July 2006, Carolyn worked for a combined seven years in both the Office of the President and the Office of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Virginia. Carolyn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from N.C. State University (Raleigh, NC), her Master of Education in Counselor Education, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Virginia. Robert WatlingRobert Watling became the chief financial officer for the Division of Campus Life in July 2006. Robert is responsible for all financial, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and personnel administration matters for the division. Prior to joining Emory University, Robert served as the director for finance and personnel at The George Washington University’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences.Robert received a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University and earned a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). Barbara HastyBarbara Hasty, Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students and the Office of Student Conduct, joined Emory in 1987. She has been with the Division of Campus Life throughout her employment, beginning with her first position at Emory University Health Services as a Patient Coordinator and then as the Insurance Coordinator for Student Health. Following these positions, Barbara was the Office Manager for the Faculty and Staff Clinic for four years, and worked at the Emory Bookstore for two years.Barbara attended North Carolina Central University for three years and is currently pursuing an associate degree from Clayton State University. Nelda StoudenmireNelda Stoudenmire is Administrative Assistant to the Associate Vice President of Campus Life and the Chief Financial Officer. Nelda joined Emory in 1986 as a secretary to the director of Residential Facilities. Since 1994, she has been in her present position with Campus Life Central.Kathy MossKathy Moss is the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Special Assistant to the Senior Vice President. Kathy joined Emory in 2003 following a "first career" in elementary education & special education in Tennessee and Georgia. Kathy received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and completed graduate courses in the area of learning disabilities. She enjoys bicycling, gardening, and reading. |
