Bridget Riordan



Dr. Bridget Guernsey Riordan was named Dean of Students in October 2006. At Emory she has held the positions of Director of Student Activities, Assistant to the Vice President for Campus Life, and Assistant Vice President of Campus Life. She supervises the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, and the offices of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Life, Multicultural Programs and Services, Sorority and Fraternity Life, and Student Development/Volunteer Emory.

Dr. Riordan has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Higher Education program at Georgia State University. Prior to her positions at Emory, Dr. Riordan worked in various student affairs positions at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Pittsburgh and served as a National Collegiate Field Advisor for Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity.

A native of Indiana, Dr. Riordan received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University, her Master of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

In professional associations, Dr. Riordan served as the President of the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and has been on the Region III board for NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators). Her areas of research and publication have included alcohol education and Greek letter organizations.
