Monday, September 13th - 7:00 p.m., Rustin Chapel (Side Chapel of Cannon Chapel)

Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi will present a lecture/demonstration on Tibetan Meditation. Drepung Loseling Monks will also attend the meditation session. The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the sand mandala please visit http://www.mysticalartsoftibet.org/Mandala.htm

Tuesday, September 14th - 11:45 a.m. Math and Science Building Atrium

The Drepung Loseling Monks from the Mystical Arts of Tibet will perform an opening ceremony and begin construction of a sand mandala. Mandalas are made to promote healing and peace. Throughout the week, visitors will want to come by the sand mandala site to view the progress on the mandala and try their hand on the model that will be set aside for participation. The monks will be here daily from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Study Abroad Information Session

Meet with Tibetan Study Abroad Director Dr. Tara Doyle and Study Abroad advisor Kristi Hubbard to get more information on studying in Dharamsala, India. For Emory undergraduates.

Wednesday, September 15th - 7:00 p.m. Student Panel from Tibetan Study Abroad Program, Jones Room, Woodruff Library

This group of students who participated in the study abroad program in Dharamsala will present their research and comments on their study abroad experience. These presentations give a very different view of life and work in the lives of exiled Tibetans living in India.

Thursday, September 16th - Cry of the Snow Lion, Film sponsored by Students for a Free Tibet. White Hall, Room 101, (Please note the change in room) 7:00 p.m.

A definitive and moving exploration of the plight of Tibet, featuring rare undercover footage, riveting interviews, and spectacular imagery.

Friday, September 17th - Closing ceremony for the Sand Mandala, Noon, Atrium, Math and Science Building

The monks will perform a closing ceremony and then lead participants to Lullwater Creek where the healing sands from the mandala will be distibuted through the water there to take healing powers throughout the waterways of the world.
