A. Imaging Results

The next two figures give some idea of the range of body shapes and sizes in our database. The first shows data from all 167 patients. The central slice through the LV (as determined by the operator during processing) is shown for each patient, along with an overlay of the sampling points that were used for the circumferential profiles. The patients are arranged from left to right, top to bottom by increasing weight from 102 to 243 lbs.

The next shows some patients that were chosen for their unique body shapes:

This image conveys the consistency of AC values across all of the patients. The rows of the image are the histograms of the 167 patient AC images:

A log scale has been used (the gray level represents the log(frequency) here).

This is the average of the rows of the image above; the average AC histogram of all the patients:

This following three images summarize the AC results for all 167 patients. A color scale was used to enhance the contrast.
The first image shows the average of the 167 AC scans after warping to the average edges of the 167 patients:

Full Scale = 0.100 cm-1.

These are profiles of lines through the center row and center column of slice number 10:

This image shows the standard deviations of the average warped AC scans above:

Full Scale = 0.015 cm-1.

This image shows the coefficients of variation of the average warped AC scans (100*s.d./avg):

Full Scale = 50 %. (The maximum in this image is 44%)
