IV. Summary

By assembling this database we have come one step closer to answering the questions posed in the introduction :

This database is the primary tool that we will use to evaluate the performance of new PET and SPECT attenuation correction algorithms. From this database we can derive average models of groups of patients, but, more importantly, we can also look for anatomical artifacts that could change a diagnosis and estimate the likelihood of these problems occuring.
