AV/TECH
Hours: Primarily 10:00am – 2:00pm and may include early mornings (7am or before) and late evenings (9pm or after).
Job Description:
The Student Technician is primarily responsible for the set up and maintenance of the technical and audio visual equipment used by guests in the University Center. Student Technicians will also be responsible for having reasonable knowledge of the operations of the center. Technicians will also be provided training on all equipment.
I. Customer Service Responsibilities
A. Assist customers with using Audio/Visual equipment in meeting rooms.
B. Assist building manager with organizing and setting up Audio Equipment.
C. Act as communication liaison between building manger and the Customer.
D. Conduct all interactions professionally.
E. Communicate with Operations staff, Building mangers and customers in a professional manner.
F. Use proper professional etiquette when assisting DUC staff, customer and students needing assistance with Audio/Visual Equipment.
II. Operations Responsibilities
A. Responsible for maintaining and hooking up audio and visual equipment.
B. Share the responsibility for set-up and take down of equipment.
C. Maintain and keep technical Equipment secure.
D. Report to work on time to setup equipment
E. Be present at event to assist guest with any Audio/visual inquires or problem.
F. Serve as a public relations and resource person to the members of groups using the building.
III. Position Expectations
A. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
B. Attend scheduled events and maintain the Audio/Visual Equipment
C. Uses both manual and computerized methods, in order to ensure customers are satisfied and receive help as requested.
D. Provide availability at the start of the semester.
D. Attend weekly staff meetings, ready to provide shift availability
E. Perform technical responsibilities while treating the customer with care and respect.
F. Employees must attend all employee training sessions
G. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
