Susan Bauer-Wu, PhD, RN, FAAN

Dr. Bauer-Wu's work focuses on stress resiliency and the use of contemplative practices, primarily in the context of cancer and other serious illness.  Her studies include: mindfulness based intervention for cancer patients, brain imaging of emotional responses in meditators and cancer survivors, and contemplative

practices for persons with early dementia and their loved ones. She also facilitates mindfulness programs and resiliency retreats for patients, families, and healthcare professionals. She is the author of a new book, “Leaves Falling Gently: Living Fully With Serious and Life-Limiting Illness Through Mindfulness, Compassion, and Connectedness” (New Harbinger).
