Emory EMS EMT Class
Each academic year, EEMS offers an EMT course. This course is not for college credit, but it does provide students with the opportunity to become certified at the National Registry EMT Intermediate level.

In this course, students learn life-saving patient care skills through both lectures and clinical experience. The course runs from September to April and follows the undergraduate school calendar. Classes are held two nights per week from 6-10 pm with some Saturday labs throughout the year. In addition to classroom hours, the students will also work at least 48 clinical hours during the spring semester with top EMS services and hospitals in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The course culminates with the National Registry EMT-I Certification Exam in April. Upon successful completion of the course and receipt of National Registry Certification, medics are then eligible to apply for Emory EMS membership.
The Emory EMT Class Application will be made available on our website in the early summer. The deadline is usually late August or early September, but dates are subject to change. EMT class applications are also distributed to all incoming Emory freshman via Learnlink.
