Campus Life

Craig Peters 93C 97M 00MR 01MR and his wife, Catherine Bost Peters 97M 02MR, through their family foundation—the Leodelle Lassiter Jolley Foundation—have given $20,000 to the men’s soccer team over the past two years.

Candler School of Theology

Jeanette B. Schroeder made a gift in memory of her husband, Rev. Paul Daniel Schroeder, who was issued a license to preach by Emory in 1951. Her gift will name a program director’s office in the new theology school building.

Emory College of Arts and Sciences

A family of alumni has pledged to create a scholarship to honor the late George Zorn 41T and Sarah Zorn. The Zorn scholarship will support students in several of Emory’s schools.

Emory Healthcare

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation has given more than $1.5 million to Wesley Woods Hospital. Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans and her family were key to Emory’s transformation into a leading medical center.

Emory Law

The late Patricia Collins Butler 31L, one of Emory’s first three female law graduates, made a bequest to fund student scholarships. She was a Distinguished Alumna of the school and a recipient of the Emory Medal.

Emory Libraries

The Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library has acquired a collection of Flannery O’Connor papers that belonged to scholar Sally Fitzgerald. The acquisition was supported by the Vasser Woolley Foundation and the Lewis H. Beck Educational Foundation.

Emory School of Medicine

San Wan 77M 80MR, Chia Wan, and their daughter, Nian Wan, have created a scholarship fund to honor the Wan family.

Goizueta Business School

Charlie Goetz 78C, a senior lecturer in organization and management and a distinguished lecturer in entrepreneurship, has endowed the Goetz MBA Scholarship Fund. It will provide a partial scholarship every year to a student interested in entrepreneurship.

James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies

The ARCS Foundation has added a $10,000 grant to its longtime support of Emory graduate students. The grant went to chemistry student Aaron Thornton, whose research may reduce the cost of new medications.

Michael C. Carlos Museum

Florida attorney Bill Zewadski 66C is supporting the museum with an estate gift. A museum board member since 1992, he designated his gift to strengthen the collection of Greek and Roman artifacts.

Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing

A bequest from the late Peter Van Norde is creating a scholarship in honor of his daughter, Linda Van Norde Benoski, a dedicated nurse practicing in New Jersey.

Oxford College

Ben and Angel Keller have made a bequest to endow a scholarship in memory of their son, John Lewis Keller 04OX 07C. The scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore who has shown excellence in working through disabilities.

Rollins School of Public Health

John McGowan and his wife, Linda Kay, have established the John E. and Doris W. McGowan Scholarship in honor of his late parents. He directs Emory’s MD/MPH program.

Yerkes National Primate Research Center

Longtime Emory neighbor and friend Viola Castleberry has made a bequest to support research into Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
