Sareena Gillani 13C of Dalton, Georgia, faced a special challenge as she started college at Emory this fall: The beginning of the school year corresponded to the start of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month when Muslims fast during daylight hours. “It was a bit difficult for not only me but for a lot of us,” Gillani says.
