New York artist Camille Billops and her husband, James Hatch, are donating to Emory’s Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (MARBL) their entire collection of books, letters, documents, and art; the art collection has an estimated value of $1 million. The collection includes oils, pastels, watercolors, prints, lithographs, and ceramics by a wide range of twentieth-century artists, including Billops herself, Ronald Joseph, Emma Amos, and many others. In 2004 the couple donated their collection of materials documenting African American life and culture.
