Theater Emory closed its season with a big production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Pulitzer Prize–winning Oklahoma!—complete with a full orchestra, twenty-three member cast, and accompanying chorus. Set in a Western territory in the early 1900s, this classic love story features Curly (Zech Pierce), a handsome cowboy, and Laurey (Claire Rigsby 10C), a winsome farm girl. “The show is so iconic that people tend to joke about it, but it really turned the American musical on its head,” says Associate Professor John Ammerman, director.
