Childrens' summer sports camps slated
Emory's varsity athletics coaches are offering a variety of summer sports
camps
for children this year:
*Baseball: For boys and girls age 6 through high school. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.,
Monday-Friday. Session I, June 12-16; Session II, July 17-21; Session
III, Aug.

*Basketball: For boys and girls in 5th-10th grades. 9 a.m.-4 p.m.,

Wheelchair games needs volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist with the 15th Annual National Veterans
Wheelchair Games set for June 13-17 at the Woodruff P.E. Center track.
More than 500 wheelchair athletes from the United States, Great Britain
and
Puerto Rico will participate in events that include track and field,
weightlifting and table tennis. The events are sponsored by the
Department of
Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. The Atlanta
Veterans
Affairs Medical Center is hosting the games.

New dialing procedures for United Kingdom
On April 16, dialing instructions changed for reaching the United Kingdom
(England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland). A "1" must now be
inserted
between the country code and the city code. To call the United Kingdom
from a
campus telephone, dial *91 + authorization code + 9 + 011 + 44 + 1 + city
code
+ local number.
In addition, the city codes for five British cities have changed. The
new
codes are: Leeds, 113; Sheffield, 114; Nottingham, 115; Leicester, 116;
and
Bristol, 117.
Scrap metal recycling available on campus
Recycling Coordinator Elaine Gossett has announced that a large container
for
scrap metal recycling is available for campus use. The container is
located on
Peavine Creek Drive in the grounds department's fenced storage area next
to
Chappell Park. The area is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Items
that
can be deposited in the recycling container include rinsed tin cans, old
grills, appliances, metal cabinets and desks, and lawn mowers. Before
depositing refrigeration equipment, contact Gossett at 727-1796 to
arrange for
removal of CFCs. Gossett has also distributed a recycling survey to
selected
faculty and staff, and those who wish to receive a copy of the survey may
contact her at the number listed above.
