Women's soccer makes it to the nationals

Junior Elizabeth Adams (above) of The Woodlands, Texas, and her Emory teammates were one of 20 teams in the nation selected for the NCAA Division III women's soccer national championship. The Eagles lost in the regional semifinals to Methodist College (N.C.), 1-0, on a goal with 23 seconds remaining in regulation time Nov. 4 at the P.E. Center in front of 400 fans. Emory finished the season with a 13-6-1 record and a No. 17 ranking in the final regular-season poll by the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America. Adams was instrumental in the team's success, setting a school season record for lowest goals against average (0.55 per game).
