Architects win design award for Cox Hall addition

Nix Mann & Associates and Nix Mann Architects received one of the 10 design awards from the Georgia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for Cox Hall and the Emory Hospital H-wing. The award was presented at the AIA Georgia meeting in Augusta on Oct. 5-8. AIA judges were impressed by how the architects converted Cox dining hall into a lively gathering place, blending two additions to an existing building. They noted the floor-to-floor ceiling windows that welcome students into the food court and the computer center above it.

All winning submissions will travel as an exhibit, first in November to Birmingham, England, and then on to other locations.
