Museum offers lunch alternative

Faculty, staff and students who want to break up their day in a relaxing setting are invited to attend a series of free lunchtime concerts sponsored specifically for the Emory community.

To be held in the Carlos Museum reception hall on the third floor, the concerts will be performed by members of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. William Ransom, associate professor of music and artistic director of the Chamber Music Society, said "I hope this series will provide a break in the day or week where people can come and relax and have a transcendental experience before going back to work," Ransom said.

Elizabeth Hornor, coordinator of the museum's Office of Educational Programs, which is funding the series, said the lunchtime concert series was developed to provide a way for Emory community members "to come to the museum and gather and enjoy the arts of all kinds. Lunchtime is a good time to do this."
