Nowell Briscoe (right), trade book buyer, presented author Pat Conroy with copies of the Emory Seasons Cookbook and Thomas English's The Memory Book after Conroy's booksigning on April 18 in Lullwater Books. Conroy signed copies of his newest novel, Beach Music, for about 200 members of the Emory community who attended the event. Conroy's father, retired Marine Corps Col. Donald Conroy, also attended. The title character in Conroy's book The Great Santini is loosely based on the author's father.
