The Olympics Report

Olympic parking lots chosen

The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) announced recently that 11 of the suburban parking lots for Olympic spectators have been chosen. These 11 lots will provide about 27,500 of the estimated 70,000-80,000 spaces ACOG is hoping to have available. The locations of the first 11 lots are:

*I-75 North: Kennesaw State College and Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems.

*Georgia 400: undeveloped property at Northpoint Mall.

*I-85 North: property known as the "old cars facility" at I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard; Indian Brook Business Park on Indian Trail Road; and Gwinnett Tech.

*U.S. 78: Stone Mountain Airport and DeVry Technical Institute.

*I-20 East: DeKalb College South

*I-75/85 South: Lakewood Fairgrounds.

*I-20 West: undeveloped property at the Thornton Road and I-20 interchange.

Editor's note: The Olympics Report column will appear in Emory Report on a periodic basis, as information about the Olympics that will directly affect Emory employees becomes available.
