Emory Woman's Club creates hospital art
Emory Woman's Club members (left to right) Elizabeth Joyner, Berta Laney,
wife of former Emory President James T. Laney, Becky Hunter and Ruth Simmons
look over a painting of irises that the group created as part of their work
with the Foundation for Hospital Art. The iris mural and another one depicting
cranes will be placed in a Seoul, South Korea, hospital with help from the
Laneys and a U.S. Army officer stationed in South Korea who is the son of
the foundation's president, John Feight. The four-by-four foot murals are
made up of six panels of stretched canvas which were color-keyed and then
painted by Woman's Club volunteers.
