Emory hosts International Awareness Week Oct. 16-18


The Council on International Affairs and The Office of International Affairs will present the Emory International Awareness Week Oct. 16-18 in Coca Cola Commons, Dobbs Center. Ildi Flannery, associate director of the office of

International Affairs, hopes the event will become an annual occasion.

"We hope that International Awareness Week will help Emory to become a more internationally aware and global campus," Flannery said. "The program will highlight various internationally focused academic programs as well as various co-curricular student-run activities. We hope to see a growing number of participants from the general Emory Community."

The following events have been scheduled:

Oct. 16, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. International Educational Opportunities


Asian Studies, French, German, International Health--School of Public Health, Italian, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Law, Law and Religion, Near Eastern Studies, Russian Studies, Spanish, Center for International Studies, Center for International Programs Abroad, Office of International Affairs, Office of International Students and Scholars, Religious Life/Chaplain and The Carter Center.

Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. International Student Organizations


Emory Global Health Organization, Muslim Students Association, Pakistani Student Association, Latin Student Organization, Emory International Peers, MINES, International Association, Korean Student Association, AIESEC, Center for International Programs Abroad and the Office of International Affairs.

Oct. 18, 1-2 p.m. International Cultural Performances


AHANA dance group and International Couture.
