Name change sought for Teaching Fund Committee

Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Harriet King, who proposed the creation of a University Teaching Committee at the Sept. 17 Faculty Council meeting, will ask the Council at its October meeting to amend her proposal by changing the name to University Teaching Fund Committee. King said the name change is intended to avoid anyone confusing the committee, which will be a permanent Faculty Council committee, with the Commission on Teaching, which is chaired by Rebecca Chopp and whose work is expected to be completed by the spring.
