Executive education program held Aug. 7-11 Leadership 2000, an executive education seminar aimed at improving leadership behavior, will be held at the Goizueta Business School Aug. 711. The program is designed to help executives improve their leadership capabilities through one-on-one coaching and seminars. It will focus on communication skills, leadership roles and styles. "There's nobody who's a perfect leader," said Peter Topping, executive director of the GBS Office of Executive Programs. "Leadership, or the lack thereof, is something almost every company talks about, and the people skills are what ultimately make a business work." Cost for the seminar is $5,000, and Emory faculty and staff participants receive a 50 percent discount. Alumni save 15 percent. For more information, call 404-727-2200. |

Cabinet approves temperature standards The President's Cabinet has approved adoption of a policy on the standardization of tempreature ranges for University buildings. Facilities Manage-ment recommended the policy as a way to provide some consistency inside building environments and reduce hot/cold call maintence. Approved tempreature ranges are 70-74 degrees Farenheit for all office spaces, and 68-76 degrees Fahrenheit for common spaces, such as corridors, restrooms, elevator lobbies and classrooms. Ranges for museums, libraries, research laboratories, vivariums and other special use spaces will be set according to individual departments responsible for the space. FM would like to implement these changes immediately for all office and common spaces. FM will contact building representatives to help identify special use spaces or other areas having unique tempreature requirements, said Bob Hascall, FM senior associate vice president. |
