PCSM, EOP sponsor development grants
The President’s Commission on the Status of Minorities and the Office of Equal Opportun-ity Programs (EOP) have established a fund to assist minority faculty and professional staff who wish to participate in professional conferences.

Grants will be awarded based on criteria outlined by the two groups, and no grant will exceed $500.

The application deadline is Dec. 29. Com-pleted forms should be submitted to EOP, 110 Administration Building. Award determination will be made by Jan. 19, 2001. Questions and requests for a full list of criteria should be directed to the EOP office at 404-727-6016.

Rent-A-Car deal inked with Enterprise
Enterprise Rent-A-Car has been awarded a contract to provide rental vehicles to the Emory community.

For pertinent information regarding vehicles, rental rates, terms and conditions that govern a rental, log onto http://epic.emory.edu/cso/main-cso.htm.

Enterprise has set up an office at Emory West where rentals can be picked up and returned, from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Emory West Enterprise site can be reached at

Theology Dean Richey becomes UMC liaison
Russell Richey, dean of the School of Theology, has taken on an additional role with his appointment as the university’s liaison with the United Methodist Church.Richey replaces Jack Gilbert, associate vice president for planned giving and leadership development.

“Jack Gilbert has given his heart to strengthening the ties between the United Methodist Church and Emory University," said Bill Fox, senior vice president for institutional advancement. “We will benefit for years to come because of Jack’s leadership and compassion.”
