PCSM reviews new member recuitment

Members of the President’s Commission on the Status of Minorities (PCSM) held its latest meeting on Wednesday, March 28, in WHSCAB’s Woodruff Room.

After approving the minutes of its February meeting, chair Brenda Seiton said she placed an ad in The Emory Wheel, posted an announcement on LearnLink and wrote letters to department heads and deans seeking new commission members. Deadline for applications is April 13.

Seiton also said she plans to put another round of ads in The Wheel and on LearnLink calling for applications for the group’s annual scholarship awards. She said she’d like to also have an April 13 deadline for the scholarship so winners can be announced by the end of the month.

The rest of the meeting was a closed session with President Bill Chace, who discussed the group’s diversity agenda with PCSM members.

Seiton said the next PCSM meeting will be Monday, April 30, at a location to be announced.
