Poet Nikki Finney, an associate professor of creative writing at the University of Kentucky, will give a reading of her work tonight, Nov. 5, at 8:15 p.m. in the Jones Room of Woodruff Library. On Nov. 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Jones Room, Finney will answer questions about her work. Finney is the author of two books of poetry, On Wings Made of Gauze (1985) and Rice (1995). The latter was the recipient of a PEN American Open Book Award in 1999. Finney also wrote Heartwood, a 1998 collection of short stories written especially for literacy students.
