Relay for Life to raise cancer funds all night
Teams can still register for the Intown Relay for Life 2002, to be held at Druid Hills High School, April 19–20.
Cosponsored by Emory, the Winship Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society, the event raises money for cancer research, education and patient and community services.

The opening ceremony will be at 7 p.m., April 19, and walkers will circle the track until 10 a.m., April 20. Each team should have at least one walker on the track at all times.

Slovenian professor visits Emory
Slavoj Zizek, professor at the Institute for Sociology in Ljubljana, Slovenia, will visit Emory April 22–23 for a lecture, book signing and colloquium.

Zizek’s lecture, “Passions of the Real: History and Culture in the XX Century,” will take place Monday, April 22, at 4:15 p.m. in White Hall 208. A book signing and reception will follow. Zizek will wrap up his visit with a colloquium from 10 a.m.–noon in Woodruff Library’s Jones Room.

Zizek, a former presidential candidate in Slovenia, has published more than 50 books, and has been described by The Village Voice Literary Supplement as “a fast-forward philosopher of culture for the post-Cold War period.”
