taking applications
Mentor Emory, a program for women employees cosponsored by the President’s
Commission on the Status of Women and Human Resources, is now taking
applications for new mentors/mentees. The program provides women
with an opportunity to enhance their career development by drawing
on the experiences and talents of other successful Emory women.
Participants are paired based on professional skills, career goals

Social critic to give Unity keynote
Social critic Tim Wise will deliver the keynote speech for Emory’s
Unity Month
celebration, Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. in WHSCAB auditorium.
“Why Whites Must/Should Join in the Racial Equity and Social
Justice Movement,” will be the title of Wise’s address.
The event kicks off the final week of Unity Month, which this year
was expanded from a weeklong run of programs.
Senior advisor to the Fisk University Race Relations Institute in
Nashville, Tenn., Wise has spent more than 20 years fighting for
social justice. He recently founded the Association for White Anti-Racist
Education (AWARE), which focuses on education white Americans on
how to combat racism.
