Chace gives pointers to new 'president': President Bill Chace’s lighter side was front and center during his State of the University Address to a gathering of 300 members of the Emory community and University alumni at the Druid Hills Golf Club last Thursday night. Seen here with his wife JoAn, Chace joked about his office’s sometimes quirky dealings with faculty, students and the outside world, but also made pertinent points about where Emory has been, where it is and where it is going. “The strength of Emory is, at the end, to be measured by the strength and affection of its alumni,” Chace said. Up, up and away! Lelia Crawford, director of the International Scholar Program, gathers some decorations at Emory's 27th International Cultural Festival, held on the Quadrangle, Saturday, April 5. "Cultural Infusion" was the theme of the event, which brought together faculty, students and staff for fashion shows, a wide range of dance and musical performances as well as a smorgasbord of food. Information booths with photos and artifacts from 40 nations were part of the celebration too. The event was cosponsored by the International Student and Scholar Programs office and the International Association of Emory. Photo by Ann Borden.
