In
a March 29 ceremony marking the completion of Emory's Habitat for Humanity
project, JoAn and President Bill Chace (from left) presented homeowner
Consuela Pippins, with help from Habitat board member Linda Parrish and
site leader John-Paul Chandonia, a framed rendering of the Emory gate
to hang up on her (new) wall. Pippins also received t-shirts for herself
and her children, and a $100 gift certificate to Home Depot. The seven-week
build, which the retiring Chace requested to bookend a nine-year University
presidency that began with a similar Habitat project, drew some 275 volunteers
from the University community. Photo by Ann Borden. |
