Members of the President’s Commission on the Status of
Women (PCSW) met Thursday, Jan. 16, in 400 Administration and unanimously
voted to join Employee Council in supporting the Carter Center resolution
asking the administration to suspend Emory’s pre-employment
drug testing policy.
In other business, Women’s Center Director Ali Crown reported
that three candidates for the newly created position of sexual assault
prevention coordinator (which will be part of Campus Life) have
been invited to interview on campus this month.
It also was announced that Rosemarie Garland-Thompson, associate
professor of Women’s Studies, will be the keynote speaker
for the PCSW Spring Event on Wednesday, April 9. The event will
be held at the Miller-Ward Alumni House from
3:30–5 p.m.
