By Lisa DeMik

Members of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) met Thursday, Jan. 16, in 400 Administration and unanimously voted to join Employee Council in supporting the Carter Center resolution asking the administration to suspend Emory’s pre-employment drug testing policy.

In other business, Women’s Center Director Ali Crown reported that three candidates for the newly created position of sexual assault prevention coordinator (which will be part of Campus Life) have been invited to interview on campus this month.

It also was announced that Rosemarie Garland-Thompson, associate professor of Women’s Studies, will be the keynote speaker for the PCSW Spring Event on Wednesday, April 9. The event will be held at the Miller-Ward Alumni House from
3:30–5 p.m.

The PCSW is accepting membership applications for new faculty, staff and student

The commission will meet again Feb. 3 at 3:30 p.m. in 400 Administration.
