Carter
addresses his 'colleagues' in Cannon:
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter spoke at a special open meeting of
the Faculty Council, March 20 in Cannon Chapel. Carter fielded a number
of questions, many of which asked his opinion on the University he calls
home. "Emory, with the presence of the Carter Center, has a remarkable
opportunity to escalate itself very rapidly to being one of the top
five or six universities in America—if it takes full advantage
of that opportunity," Carter said. More than 200 faculty attended
the event. Click here or above for

Seminar
makes neuroscience 'real' for freshmen: To spark the interest of students
in his freshman seminar, “The Neuroscience of Athletic Performance,”
Paul Lennard used demonstrations of athletic traits and activities with
which they would be familiar. For instance, freshman Amy Franciscovich,
a goalkeeper on the women’s soccer team, was assigned to first describe
and then physically demonstrate the action of diving to catch a soccer
ball. Click here or above for the full
