Shopping event to benefit Vaccine Center
Action Cycling Atlanta and Crate & Barrel present "Shopping For a Purpose," an event benefitting the Emory Vaccine Center. The event will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Crate & Barrel's Lenox Square Mall store, from 7-9:30 p.m.

Admission is $25 and 10 percent of all shopping proceeds will go directly to the Emory Vaccine Center for its HIV/AIDS vaccine research. The store will be closed to the public and cocktails and appetizers will be served for attendees.

Icelandic president highlights second shopping spree
EmoryGives and Parisian Phipps Plaza will host the second annual holiday shopping party, Sunday, Nov. 16 from 6-9 p.m. with all proceeds going to the University's corporate giving campaign.

Purchase of a $5 ticket gives holders 20 percent off regular and sale merchandise (10 percent off shoes) at all Atlanta metro area Parisians on Nov. 16 as well as entry to the private party at the Phipps Plaza store, which will feature hors d'oeuvers, beverages, merchandise giveaways and live music.

President Jim Wagner will be in attendance from 7-8 p.m. along with special guest Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson, president of Iceland, who is visiting Emory that day with the cooperation of the Halle Institute for Global Learning and is interested in seeing an example of charitable giving in this country.
