Hawass brings star power to Glenn:
Zahi Hawass, secretary-general of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, signs a copy of his book, Secrets from the Sand: My Search for Egypt’s Past, for William Roberts of Varner Elementary School in Cobb County. Hawass, who held a book signing prior to his Oct. 22 lecture in Glenn Auditorium, was on campus to participate in ceremonies marking the transfer of the Ramesses I mummy back home to Egypt. Anc Ouy Eadr Hist? Seminar decodes cryptology: Skip Garibaldi, assistant professor of mathematics and computer science, leads the freshman seminar Cryptology. Not only does he introduce students to the history of codes and codebreaking but he also teaches them mathematical concepts that form the basis of modern computer-based encryption.
