PAC elects new members
The Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) has inducted three new members, each elected by peers in their respective schools/departments, to fill faculty positions on the 12-person body.

Carole Hahn, professor of educational studies, has been elected to fill the social sciences position; Jon Gunneman, professor of social ethics, will fill the theology position; and Eloise Carter, professor of biology, will represent Oxford College.


Sign up for Take Back the Night
Registrants for the 12th annual Take Back the Night 5K run/one-mile walk to benefit the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, Saturday, Oct. 11 can sign up at the Emory Women’s Center. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 on race day, and all participants will receive a t-shirt.

In addition to the race festivities, which begin at 6 p.m. in downtown Decatur, shirts from the Atlanta Clothesline Project, a collection of clothing designed by survivors of rape and sexual assault, will be displayed. Anyone interested in designing a shirt can do so at the Women’s Center, Oct. 6–10. Call 404-727-2001 for more details.

Award-winning Mexican chef to visit this week
Campus Dining, as part of an international chef exchange program, will be hosting award-winning chef Antonio Ramos of Mexico, Oct. 6–7. On Monday, Oct. 6, he will be cooking lunch in the DUC residential restaurant from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and on Oct. 7 he will be in the Cox Hall food court from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Ramos will be cooking some of his favorite Mexican dishes over the two afternoons.
