PCSW TO SPONSOR FLSA BROWN BAGS
The staff concerns committee of the President’s Commission on the Status for Women (PCSW) will sponsor a series of brown bag lunches for any employees affected by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The first brown bag will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at noon in the Center for Woman, on the third floor of Cox Hall. Subsequent brown bags will be held Nov. 10 and Dec. 8.

STRATEGIC PLAN SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON THEMES
Community input is critical to Emory’s strategic planning process. As requested in the all-campus e-mail sent out Oct. 4, the strategic planning steering committee asks that all faculty, staff, students and alumni review the sample themes—“Mind and Brain,” “Predictive Health Research,” and Religion and Public Policy”—and provide suggestions for other themes that are cross-cutting (bridging multiple academic units), mission and vision driven (advancing the mission and vision of the University), and innovative (transformative ideas that will move forward the intellectual and research direction of the University).

The deadline has been extended to Friday, Oct. 22, for comments and additions to the three signature themes the strategic planning steering committee has proposed as possible guides to Emory’s intellectual agenda.

Comments can be submitted via the comments section of the strategic planning website(www.admin.emory.

).
