Emory College junior Julius Oatts is among the many Emory Cares volunteers who traveled to New Orleans
Nov. 10–12 to help rebuild the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Upper Ninth Ward. More than 50 Emory alumni, staff, faculty and students worked with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity to construct new homes for displaced residents as part of the Musician’s Village project.

Emory senior Manfredi named Rhodes Scholar

Zachary Manfredi has become something of a media star.

The newly-named Rhodes Scholar has been interviewed recently by so many reporters that he has trouble listing them all. By his count, he’s talked about winning this prestigious award with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Associated Press, the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, The Hub and many others.
