James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies
The Laney Graduate School recognized the recipients of 118 master’s degrees and 257 doctoral degrees. Around 200 of the newly minted PhDs participated in the traditional hooding ceremony at the Schwartz Center, and around 50 master’s graduates were honored in a separate ceremony. Two programs honored their first graduates: Pawel Jurczyk received a PhD in computer science and informatics, and Ya-Lin Huang and Lydia Ogden received PhDs in health services research and health policy.
Dean Lisa A. Tedesco congratulated the graduates on their achievements, and urged them to take with them some of the spirit of Emory and a commitment to pursue knowledge that addresses the most important problems of our day.
