Soiree to feature creative fun

Kick off the new academic year with the Third Annual Creativity & Arts Soiree on Friday, Sept. 10, a casual evening of free performances, readings and activities located throughout the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts from 4-7:30 p.m.

Enjoy light refreshments and mingle with arts enthusiasts and representatives from arts departments, student groups, the Carlos Museum and Emory Libraries.

New this year is the First Annual Emory College Center for Creativity & Arts Awards honoring community, alumni, faculty, staff, students and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the arts on or off campus. The awards ceremony begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Chace Upper Lobby.

Entertainment includes jazz, a cappella, theater and break dancing performances, poetry readings and more. Sketch sculpture or still lifes by Vann Jernigan Florist and add your own creative touch to graffiti, story, poetry, sidewalk chalk and collage projects. Emory Arts Members/Friends are invited to the Center for Creativity & Arts wine and dessert lounge.
