Future of media explored

Three Emory professors will participate in Georgia Tech’s FutureMedia Fest on Oct. 4-7, described as “an interactive mash-up” to explore and enable new paradigms in how content is created, distributed and consumed in a converging media world.

Benn Konsynski and Jagdish Sheth, Goizueta Business School professors, and Joel Saltz, director of the Center for Comprehensive Informatics at Emory Healthcare, will participate at the event on the Tech campus.

Speeches, panel discussions, workshops and demonstrations by industry leaders, academics, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs are planned. Topics will cover new media platforms, emerging media, social media, live music and gaming technology, cloud computing, the future of advertising and marketing, health care media, and more. See a schedule of events.

Konsynski will moderate a panel on the world of immersive, interactive 3-D virtual environments. Saltz will speak on “Healthcare Drivers for Information Science.” Sheth will participate in a panel on global partnerships with a focus on digital, mobile and social sectors.
