Take Note

Three flu shot clinics left

Protect yourself this flu season with a shot at one of three final clinics, Dec. 6, 7 and 8. View times and locations at the Student Health and Counseling Services website.

Flu shots are free for benefits-eligible University and Healthcare employees, and $26 for non-Emory employees over the age of 17.

“This year, the CDC is recommending flu shots for everyone over 6 months of age,” says Michael Huey, executive director of Emory University Student Health and Counseling Services.

Immunization is especially important for those with asthma, diabetes, heart disease and chronic illnesses.

The 2010-11 influenza vaccine will protect against three different flu virus strains: an H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus.
